Well-being is said to be the result
of the unobstructed flow of the "life force " around the
body. This life force corresponds to Qi in Traditional
Chinese Medicine and Prana in Ayurveda.
This life force or energy is thought
to move in currents around the body between positive and negative
poles. Practitioners aim to rebalance or restore the energy flow
by means of therapeutic bodywork, nutritional advice, gentle stretching
exercises - polarity yoga - and counselling.
